CAREER

Born in Sparti, Greece, in 1979. Studied Chemistry at the Chemistry Department of the University of Crete and received her degree in 2001. Had her M.Sc. in the field of “Environmental Engineering” in 2003 at the same department on ‘Aerosol optical properties at the area of the Eastern Mediterranean and correlation with their chemical composition’. Ph.D. Thesis (2007, University of Crete) in the field of Atmospheric Chemistry, studying the ‘Non Methane Hydrocarbons over the Eastern Mediterranean; Factors affecting their level and contribution to the oxidative capacity of the atmosphere’. Conducted parallel aerosol research at the Environmental Chemical Processes Laboratory of the University of Crete and at the Institute of Environmental Research and Sustainable Development (IERSD) of the National Observatory of Athens during the period 2007-2008. Employed at the National Observatory of Athens in 2008 as Associate Researcher and promoted to Senior Researcher in 2021. Head-Technical Manager–Main analyst in the Atmospheric Chemistry Laboratory (ACL) with duties on the application of the  ISO/IEC 17025:2005 quality assurance standard application during the period 2009-2017. Responsible for the urban background ‘Thissio Air Monitoring Station’ (Athens, Greece) and the ‘Mobile Air Quality Monitoring Station’ of NOA.
