Dr. Katerina Papagiannaki, born in 1975, holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics (NTUA). She acted as Research Associated Scientific personnel in IERSD/NOA from 2006 to 2016 and as Senior Research Scientist since 2017. Her major research interests lie in weather-related hazards and societal impacts of climate and weather-related phenomena. Currently, her work involves socio-economic impact assessment and statistical modeling, development and analysis of databases of high-impact weather events and associated societal impacts and flood fatalities in Greece and the Mediterranean area, and design and analysis of behavioral surveys and experiments. She has authored or co-authored 23 papers published in refereed international journals. She has participated in various national and EU-funded projects.
