Use of ground-validation data to evaluate and improve uses of satellite rainfall in hydrologic modeling of complex terrain basin floods
Better understand and quantify high-impact precipitation events inducing flash-floods in complex mountainous terrain basins in the framework of 2013 field camgpain of the international project HyMex in the Gard area of southern France. NOA participates with its mobile weather radar and other in situ instrumentation for rain measurements. The experiental data are used to quantify the error propagation of high-resolution satellite precipitation products in flood modelling.
