The project aimed at developing and applying methodologies for: a) the compilation of annual National Inventories of GHG emissions and other air emissions in Greece, taking into account the recent methodological tools being made available (e.g. IPCC Good Practice Guidance), as well as the projections of GHG emissions b) the assessment of GHG emission credits that can derive from the enhancement of carbon sinks in forests and agricultural lands on the basis of Articles 3.3 and 3.4 of the Kyoto Protocol, c) the assessment of the progress of measures and policies as contained in the National Plan for the reduction of emissions by sources and the enhancement of removals by sinks, d) the environmental and economic assessment of possibilities for exploring the flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol, and e) the assessment of socio-economic impacts from climate change, and the identification and assessment of potential adaptation measures.
