Study of the effect of synoptic scale effects on mesoscale and local scale flow in the marine atmospheric boundary layer in coastal area and improvement of the parameterization of surface turbulent fluxes in the atmospheric mesoscale model COAMPS of the Naval Research Laboratory, USA. Data for the vertical structure of the atmosphere which were recorded with the aircraft of Naval Postgraduate School, USA during the 2005 Autonomous Sensing and Prediction System (ASAP) campaign in the area of central California were used.
