The project involves the Strategic Noise Mapping and Action Planning in accordance with the requirements of END (Environmental Noise Directive 2002/49/EC ) for the city of Patras. IERSD acts as scientific advisor in a Consortium that has been assigned this contract by the Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change. Basic tasks undertaken by IERSD are: meteorology issues; support to noise and exposure assessment using noise model; and, legal – institutional issues involved in the preparation of action plans for noise protection.
