The National Observatory of Athens (NOA), one of the country’s leading research institutions with a long-standing contribution to the production of scientific knowledge, and the Center for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE), an international leader in education and specialized consulting in Sustainable Development, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The official agreement was signed by Dr. Spyros Vasilakos, Director and President of the Board of Directors of NOA, and Mr. Nikos Avlonas, President of CSE, thereby sealing the collaboration between the two organizations.
This partnership lays the groundwork for the development of innovative meteorological and climate information services, aiming to enhance the Climate Resilience of organizations and businesses. Through the METEO unit and under the coordination of NOA’s Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (ITTO), the Observatory will offer its scientific expertise, while the Center for Sustainability (CSE) will contribute its specialization in sustainable business models and Sustainability strategy.
Executives from both contracting parties attended the signing ceremony and the subsequent discussion on outlining the next steps:

- Emmanouil Xylouris, Deputy Director of the Institute for Astronomy, Astrophysics, Space Applications and Remote Sensing (IAASARS/NOA).

- Maria Ziazia, Head of the Special Account for Research Funds (SARF/NOA).
- Fotini Koutrafori, Representative of NOA staff on the Board of Directors.

With this collaboration, the National Observatory of Athens and the Center for Sustainability (CSE) commit to transforming climate and environmental information into a valuable decision-making tool, promoting a new standard of cooperation between science and business excellence with the common goal of a sustainable future.
