Improving our understanding of wave-air-sea interaction in the marine boundary layer
Study of the structure of the atmospheric boundary layer near sea surface and especially the effect of sea waves on the profile of atmospheric parameters and the exchange of kinetic energy beween sea and air using already available datasets from various measurement platforms (aircraft, ships) as well as new data which willl be collected very close to sea surface using small buoys equiped with fast sensors. The final aim of the project is more accurate parameterization of the above physical processes in atmospheric and wave forecast models.
